We have a number of events coming up in April.

As we are now into the Spring season with (hopefully) longer and warmer days, The Friends are running some April events.
On 18th April is the first Friends’ lecture.  We have felt for a while that we do not thank the Friends enough for their support so have organised a free lecture.  Jackie Watson – a bat ecologist- will talk to us about Bats – the Myth and the Reality. Please try to support this event.  See poster here which you can download to publicise the event.  .Inaugural Members’ Lecture  We would also want to use the lecture as a way of attracting more Friends so please encourage your friends to attend. It is perhaps worth noting that it will cost less to join the Friends than to pay for the lecture
Jackie Watson will also lead a bat walk later in the season so first you will get the theory and then have a chance to meet the bats themselves using bat locators.

On 24th April is our annual Spring Clean.  This year we will be Cleaning for the Queen so that HM celebrates her 90th birthday in a cleaner land.  We have purple bin bags for the Queen and ordinary black bags for the Republicans among us.  Waders, gloves and litter pickers will be provided.  Tiaras and crowns are optional!!  Again see the poster here to download to help us to publicise. Also we are going to be at the Spring Fling in the Eric Liddell Centre from 11 to 4 on Saturday 9th April to spread the word about the Friends – we would hope to see you there as it is an interesting event which involves many organisations which are local to Morningside (and a few more) We will be sharing a table with the Friends of the Hermitage.   Spring Fling
