If you spot something similar again please contact the City of Edinburgh Environmental wardens via the Neighbourhood Office South on 0131 529 5151 or e-mail southteam@edinburgh.gov.uk. If the problem is actually in the burn, i.e. you suspect that there is sewage in the water then please contact SEPA on 0800 80 70 60 who deal with water pollution incidents. It has taken 2 baths and many wipe downs to reduce but not eliminate the smell. It does worry me that my dog, or indeed myself, may become ill from this.
