A big thank to the many who supported Tea in the Park – particularly the many volunteers without whom the day could not happen. FOBVP will have made over £1,000. We will make sure it is put it to good use! See the item “What your friends do” for a reminder of how FOBVP uses the money it raises.
So what’s next? Several parents have asked for play equipment. The council are going to provide some, in two places:
- by the theatre, for older children.
- by the willow structure, for toddlers
The Friends will provide a quality picnic table (they cost around £1,000) near the toddler play area.
As for the Rowan Tree bridge near the entrance, the council have made it safe with temporary boards, but they say that the main stringers below the bridge are rotting and it will need replacing sometime.
